Three Days of Football over!

I'll post of pictures of the Niner game, if you can call it that, later. Niners really stunk it up. But this horrid game concluded my three days of football. Friday, Caruthers (GO BLUE RAIDERS!!) smashed Tranquility (best game of the three), Saturday Fresno State won an ugly one, and Today, the Niners got their asses handed to them.

Again pictures to follow.

Fresno State Game

Well today was a strange one. I paid some bills, always fun. Put up some sticky paws to prevent Helo and Flick from shredding the Units' eurobed. Was going to sign my purchase contracts with the Grove, but Laura was sick so that was canceled.

The highlights of today was a quick nap and a boring but fun Bulldog Football game. Man being there brought back tons of memories of running around Saturday nights getting into and staying out of trouble.

Here are some things that I noticed about the stadium now that I have been to a fair share of bigger better stadiums. It is small, but comparable to other college stadiums. However there are still a-holes who do their best and worst to ruin the games for all of us. Stay home or go to a bar before you drop f-bombs in front of kids or get all worked up about a in between time killer field game that you have to call the guy a "son of a bitch" and "a pussy kickin' prick" Seriously lay off the booze and stay in the bar, don't ruin it for people.

This used to be all grass.

The Fresno State Marching band is huge. A lot bigger than I remember.

The band plays for the visiting team while they warm up. BTW they sit in the end zone.

This did nothing for me. The one tiny regret about UCR, no football so my school pride is not as strong as it should or could be.

One of the units, and no that is not an iPod, he doesn't know what an iPod is.

I am all giddy over the worst than high school level of play and the stupid cries of "Red Wave Third Down THUNDER!" What was that about.... it was weak. Really weak. They also call first downs like we are the Broncos are something. Oh well I guess it is all in good fun, but man I was making so much fun of the Third Down Thunders hahaha.

Looks like I will be my dad's football buddy. Could be worst I suppose. Hey it's football.... Fresno state sucky football, but football.

So Scary

So today while I was shopping at Costco #31 in Fresno for Tennis Balls for the team. I got 30 cans, enough for 5 games. I hope that is enough..... I also purchased a 80 GB Ipod. I should have known something was up when the box was not wrapped, but only sealed with the Costco services sticker. Well I opened it an hour or two later and there was no Ipod... I was scared. Not because it was missing, but because I thought Costco was going to stick it to me. I mean I am at a disadvantage here. I didn't do anything, but they could say I hid the ipod, but I think with the seal still in place, although broken, was enough proof for them. But man when the Manager took forever to bring a new one out I thought he wad going to come back and say sorry, you are a thief. But he didn't He brought out a new sealed one and he opened it himself and together we marveled at the Ipod. I am happy now. New bigger Ipod will be up and operational by Niner Game. I almost got a new nano, but man there was a 50 dollar difference for a Nano 8GB and an 80GB normal.... for 50 bones more I got 72 more GB... no contest... and besides I have a nano that sits on my Ihome alarm clock ;)

You know sometimes you feel good about putting yourself out there and taking a chance. You really do. But then when nothing happens, you wonder if it was worth it. You start saying things like "No shame in silver." I mean... what does that mean? NOTHING! Yeah. So I took a risk, it didn't pay off, or hasn't yet, or something. So I laid all my cards, or most of them out on the table and it wasn't enough. Sometimes just trying is enough, but man when the end result is not what you envisioned, or not even close... it hurts. And you feel lame, empty and worthless. All of the suprised joy I had yesterday seemed to wither away by this morning, heck even last night as I was up late chatting with the Baron..... I don't know.... well at least I took the risk and "Ain't no shame in Silver." LOL

BTW I killed like 5 flies in my classroom just now, and I think that is all of them, or at least they are leaving me alone. In 30 minutes it is off to the fair to man a Booster Food booth, until one of the Unit's shows up then I go and take over my gate. Lightsabre and Wooden chair and all. Go Blue Raiders!!! FOOTBALL FOOTBALL FOOTBALL.... oh yeah this is football weekend... BLue Raiders vs. Tranquality HS. Bulldogs vs. someone. THen on Sunday the crown jewel of them all, Niners vs. Seahawks. I haven't picked my jersey yet either. I kind want to wear Rumph but he is no niner, Garcia is too big and The Baron might wear it, Norton... maybe.. Rattay... no... sigh. Looks like it will be Steve Young ... AGAIN!!! hahahahaha

A nice Surprise at the Caruthers Fair!

Well this day had a few nice surprises. First was finding out that the Girls Varsity Volleyball team was not traveling with us today. What does this mean? Well let me tell you! It meant that we didn't have to stay as late in Avenal (Female Prison city). This is important due to the fact that I would now get to see Jeremy Elvis Pearson. He is one of the best Elvis impersonators ever. He was the highlight of my first Caruthers fair. I was so bummed when I thought I was going to miss him. Well I got to see him.

But the surprises where not over. Oh no! I went to the fair, got a Tri Tip sandwich and settled in to watch Elvis by myself when my phone rings. It's The Fleet Admiral. Him and his Fiance are at the fair! Hot damn! He joins me and we watch Elvis.

That is when we started talking about our houses and his wedding. Well I am his Best Man. That is a huge Surprise and a very welcome one.

Finally I leave you with two pictures of The Fleet Admiral and Myself with the King. This day turned out to be a pretty good one. I also took some chances on some things I was involved with and well they may not have turned out, but hey there is no shame in Silver!

Oh yeah, my Lady Blue Raiders won their match 5-4! Which puts us back at .500. As a coach, for the matches I coached, I'm 5-4 ;) Also at the fair I ran into a fair number of my students. It feels good. Again this has been my dream job.

First fair and a lot of other things

Wow this past few weeks have been crazy. Hence not posting. Let's see, last thursday the AC in my classroom broke, and it got hot in there. I had to open windows. I also had kids complain up the ying yang. Oh well. It was a different change of pace I'll tell you that. First the normally complain that my room is too cold, then too hot, and now too cold as they fixed my AC. Apparently the filters had frozen solid... fun huh.

THere is some drama on my Tennis team that I will have to take care of today. Drama. Girls... catiness. Who needs it? Not I!

But on a good note the Caruthers fair is today. I am all for it. This will be my first fair. The only bad thing is I have a game with the girls on Thursday and thus will miss Elvis. What a shame... sigh. But we do get Friday off!!! yes!

oh and I went to OC and picked up both Helo and Flick. THe two butt cats are now enjoying their new home in Fresno.

Swarley

Well nothing special, but to pay homage to one of my favorite shows, How I Met You Mother, while at the River Park Jamba Juice I ordered my smoothies under the name Swarley. Yes, that's right, Swarley. I even have the receipt to prove it. For those of you who are not familiar with that episode, it is the 7th one in Season 2.

Friday updates

Well this Friday was what the admin calls a triple threat. We had a rally, Football Game, AND a dance. I was at all of them. Football duty was just sitting by a gate and telling people if they left they would not come back in and making people walk around to the front gate. However it started to get dark, so I think I need to bring a light saber with me. hahahaha or something.

Our JV got shut out 21-0, but our Varsity won 28-14 so that is good.

At the dance I broke up a little dancing but not much. What really bugged me was that there wad a band of hooligans they just kept on trying to press their luck. On of them is a lame ass student of mine who thinks he is black. But he is not and he is a bit.... well yeah... one of those students. Oh well.

Big win, Football Game, Dance

Well Yesterday our Lady Blue Raiders faced off against the top rated team in our league. Well for the most part they crushed us. What gets me a little urked is that they blatently didn't try to do it, like we were below them. Their Coach is a bit egotistical, but whatever. What made me smile and the other coach pass a stone, was that one of our girls actually BEAT, yes BEAT, one of his. He was not happy. Our girl was down 4-0 and came back to win it 8-7 via tie breaker (10-8). I was so proud of this girl and all my girls for that matter. I don't think that we have beaten one of their girls in a long time. I kinda feel sorry for the girl who lost, I am not sure what kind of punishment her coach will dish out on her.

Well today there was a mandatory meeting for the tennis team. I had decided to cancel practice and instead take them out for food after school. However only one girl showed up to the meeting and the other girls ehard no practice and just bailed. Well they missed out on burritos. Their loss.

Tonight is our first home football game. I am working one of the gates to keep people out who haven't paid for tickets. I get extra money for this, so it is cool.

After the game I volunteered to work the dance. I am sure I will have fun, but I am guessing that I will also be in charge of breaking up freak dancing hahahahaha I have my tennis racket. hahahahahaha I'll update more after... I should be nice and tired when I get home, the dance ends around 11pm..... yawn. Long day, but hopefully fun. These are great kids for the most part.

I also have part or 75% of next week planned....the planning on top of the tennis and the BTSA is hard to keep up with, but I'll manage. I always do... oh and the home purchase too... WOW!

9/12/07 I'm Teacher of the Day hahaha

Well the students who read the announcements during second period have recently gained more freedom as to some of the flavor that they can add at the end of the announcements. Well yesterday they started this whole teacher of the day thing. Well Today, the second day of it, they picked me. I had kids coming up to me and giving me thumbs up because I was teacher of the day. I had teachers ribbing me because I was teacher of the day. It was all in good fun. My 2nd period class was stunned. hahaha. oh well. Feels good that me, a first year teacher got teacher of the day on the second day. I guess I am making an impact.

Sept 11th

Another year and still no closer to ending what they started. So many lives lost and for what? I hope this ends soon and that the lives lost where not in vain.

No Covered Patio

I found out today that the lot in the European Grove that I really liked will not be able to have a covered patio, which I have a heard time understanding as when we looked at it there was nothing but dirt. But if it is a zoning thing I guess I understand. I mean if you have to zone for a patio, which sounds like something they would have to zone for, then yeah. But man this is a major setback in my mind. Not sure if it is a deal breaker or not but it is a set back. My options are I pay for it to be built by someone other than the the people building the house, or a pick a new lot, which I don't want to do. Sigh.

On the flip side, Superbad is one hell of a movie. Everyone who is not too conservative or enjoys a little sick humor and what not should see it.

What, no pictures recently....

ok ok here are two pictures cause I haven't posted any in awhile. haha

TofuNinja pulls an Undertaker

Here I do my Jeff Kent impression or Tom Selleck your pick.

A Good Short Week

Well this week comes to a close. It was a short work week, but a good one. It had some first with it as well.

On Monday as blogged prior looked at my first new house, put down a deposit to reserve the lot and filled out Loan Application. Today I finally got to talk to the loan rep. Looks like we will be able to work some things out and get a killer loan with my super credit rating.

Also had my first away game with the girls team. This game happened to also be the first time I traveled to Firebaugh. Let me tell you, 8 High School aged girls in a Surburban is not as fun as it sounds.... oh add some hip hop music loud enough to make one's ears bleed... yeah. Despite all this we had a good time.

Had my first talking to by my number one's mom. She was disappointed that I did not make her daughter captain of the tennis team. I dealt with that though :)

Went out with the New Fleet Admiral of RTPT. He took me to Edo Ya. My first time. Great Sushi. Better than Wasabi. Then we played our first set of tennis in ages. Let me tell you, the Rear Admiral Upper Half beat the Fleet Admiral 6-4 in a match that was more tiring than it should have been. Maybe we go to the club tomorrow and play some more. Before we finally drag the Rear Admiral Lower Half out to watch Superbad. That is of course it Good Luck Chuck is not showing.....

Now I sit here typing with two Salenapos or whatever or however you spell that on my shoulder. That is a first too.

I think Mom will try to force me to church tomorrow. She said that her and Dad had already went. I said "Yes, I get to sleep in for a tick-a-de-two." She then said that she would go to church with me to make sure I go, I asked her "Why do you want to punish yourself." She did not like that hahahahaha

Oh the Units went to Sushi Boy, one of Fresno's first (well probably not, but first I've noticed) Korean Sushi Places..... BEWARE!!!!!!!! ALWAYS BE CAUTIOUS OF KOREAN SUSHI.

Finally, yes this is long, my After School Program (ASP) looks like it will get approved... who know I would get school funded money for an ASP on WWE. SWEET!!!! Academic of course.

Tiring vacation

If you can call it that. Watched a horrid Niner game, I am still not a huge Alex Smith fan, signed quit claim deed to get myself off the title of old home, saw the pets I left behind, and my old roomie. Oh and I got sick... really sick. And if you read the last post, finished weekend off by reserving a new house in NW Fresno. Now it is time to go back to school and try to figure out what I am going to do with that Graphics class :(

New House

Everyone knows that I am the type of guy who would rather pay towards a house than rent. So this past week I have been toying with the idea of getting a house. There is a nice place called European Grove in NE Fresno. I took the Units and The Rear Admiral Lower Half and checked them out. Where they house itself is on the small end, it is a good starter house. 1187 sq feet. I am looking at between 216k-220k perhaps and with my monthly this is doable. The Units look like they will help out with the deposit (I'll be paying them back) and perhaps some of a possible Down payment. The draw back is staying at the Unit's home for the next 6-8 months while the place is being built. On the bright side though this allows me to save up money.

I am excited, in less than a year Flick will have a new home and so will Helo and River :) and Maybe one other guinea pig.
