Niner Game and Sub

This feels strange. I mean I am excited about going to the Niner game in SD tonight. This will be the first time I fly alone, no biggie, that is kinda cool in itself as well. However I had to plan for a sub and now for the first time I am away from my kids. I will miss them, both the good and the bad ones. I will also miss the first of two tennis matches, the other from BTSA. I guess all new teachers feel this way. I mean I am happy, I actually get a 5 day weekend.... yeah poor me, but I rather be in my class and on the court, with my students. It is hard to explain. But..... yeah I'll take some pictures on this trip which is half fun half business, hopefully all relaxing.... hopefully ;)

Well had the first match against Washington Union High School today. Their coach Chris was a super nice guy. I hope that we get to play his team next year as well. Well we won, 7-2 or 7-3 if you count our one unofficial JV match lol. For the most part it was a blow out. However our number one had a melt down. But that's ok, it was hotter than hot outside. And normally the girls play one set of 8 no ads. We had them play two sets of 6 no ads. My number one was so tired she had to also forfeit her doubles giving us the second Varsity loss. One of our noobs who is very new to tennis lost our unofficial JV match, but played well. Our third doubles was interesting... four girls who are new to tennis and had no clue how doubles worked. Me and Coach Chris had to call the match and keep score and tell the girls how to rotate. But the Lady Blue Raiders won, so I have my first official win, league starts september 11. It was fun!

First Game

Wow my girls play their first game Tuesday (Tomorrow). I'm a little worried but as long as they have fun and laugh and what not I'll be happy. Wish my team luck.

VCR. What is Obsolete

Yesterday the Baron aka Rear Admiral Lower Half, came over and took at look at my parents DVD/VCR/Cable/TV Hook up. We wanted to watch a DVD but it was not working. My parents had mentioned something about it not working since they got a new VCR or DVD player, not sure. But for what it is worth, not working. So the solution has two different but similar solutions. But a new VCR, or get a new TV. The TV one is way overdue. And in light of my failed hunting today, the way to go.

Failed huntings? YES! Failed huntings. Fresno is one hard place to find a brand new VCR with the right hook ups. I found DVD/VCR combos, but no stand alone VCRs. In the OC I would just go to Frys and BAM! new VCR for like 20 bones... Well Dorthy we are not in OC anymore. Perhaps if my parents really want I will make a trip to Fry's and get them one when I am down south next week. No VCRs in Fresno... sheesh.

Stuff stuff and more stuff and no commas

Commas aside these next few weeks will be busy for me. Currently I am lesson planning for the coming week, normally not an issue, but I have a sub for two of these days as I head down to SD and OC to watch a football game with the Vice Admiral and take care of some personal things. Upon planning out THIS week, I realized that I wouldn't have the time I needed to plan out the following week, so now I am planning for TWO weeks. Oh the fun. But I'll be ok.

The Past can not be the future

Well something odd happened this week. I got a call from some one who used to be a better friend to me back in the days. To be honest I am not sure I would consider him a good, let alone, friend these days. This person was not even invited to the wedding that is not happening. This is just to put some of my feelings out there before I type what I type :)

So he calls and ask how I have been and that he had heard something and wanted me to call him. Against my better judgment I call him back. Of course I get his voice mail. This is kind of his MO but to be fair he could have been working. When he called me we used his first and last name, like I would have forgotten who he was... but anyway. So I call back and leave a message. I used a part of his old nickname. Let him know that I was no longer getting married and that I have moved back to Central California.

Well as expected it's been a couple days and he hasn't called back but he did talk to a mutual friend and complained that he doesn't like it when I call him by his nickname as he feels it is childish or something......childish... yeah.... I could be brutally harsh here but I won't. There is so much more I want to say but a blog is not the place to do it. I feel I have aired out enough.

Guess what I got?!?!

Used a BN gift card to purchase William Shatner's Has Been. Now I know what you are thinking, this has to be a joke. BUT NO!! this is not a joke. This is serious. William Shatner with the help of Ben Folds from the Ben Folds Five made this great album. Spoken word and music mix together nicely. Common People is such a good song and the Album version is slightly different from the dl I have, but that's a good thing. And the song titled That's Me Trying is so heart felt and powerfully moving. Ok, now that I sound like a wussy I'll end it here.

What should I do?

I could post the picture of one of the units playing Wii Bowling, but they have been so supportive of me that it would feel wrong..... Well they will never see this and I doubt anyone outside of a few people actually read this so no harm..... but yeah.... I'll sleep on it

Back in the OC Mothra was the original cave monster. However I gave River a Tiki hut and now she is a cave monster too.... strange. But she seems to enjoy it and she is very happy.

Fresberg no bueno

Well I have come to a shocking but not too surprising conclusion. Some of my favorite stores, circuit City, and Best Buy, kinda suck big time in Fresno. THEY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH STOCK! Sure, I admit that by the time I get off of work it is a bit later than the norm. However in the OC this would not be an issue. Brain Age 2 vanished here in Fresno. Yeah.... and well when these two stores have a big sell they run out. Oh well saves me money. At least the River Park Best Buy was smart enough to stock a big supply of Serenity the Collectors edition. I am happy about that.

Getting a little antsy today

Well tomorrow is my first day of class. I am getting a little nervous. But I am overall ok... I think. I know that the first day you have the kids pretty much sets the tone for the whole year and you ONLY get ONE first day of teaching. I have a lot of support from the other staff members and well I am looking forward to it. Just doing laundry at the Unit's place and will be working on some last minute adjustments for my lesson plans etc.

Oh I will post some pictures later today. we may have River the Cave Monster, The Champions of Fresberg, and the Vice Admiral Spoons a pillow....or not.

Just call me Coach

Well I am now a coach as well. I wanted to help out with girls tennis and then head coach boys tennis. However the girls tennis coach is also the main soccer coach so he wanted to get conditioning done with his boys and well the Athletic director asked me if I would coach Girls tennis. I said yes and will get some help. So now I am a first year teacher and the girls head coach for tennis. oh yeah!... i think hahaha

River's in Fresberg

Well my baby pig made it to Fresberg in one piece. She was a bit nervous on the ride over but took it like a trooper. She didn't really sleep but I swear she was resting. The grapes I bought from the rest stop in Lebec cheered her up and after that it was smooth sailing. I just hope Flick takes the trip as good. hahaha. I will post pictures of River's NEW set up. She is enjoying her new big cage. One of the Units even gave her a grape and she gratefully ate it up. The other piggies would be jealous.

It's Official

I am finally a teacher. Signed my contract yesterday. I am so happy. A few fist pumps were done in the car on the way home. I got to meet the new principal, office stuff, and the old business teacher who was very very helpful and excited. Also the parental units took me out for Sushi to celebrate. I had toro, albacore, salmon, and some other rolls that they had ordered. Yum. Well later today before I head back south with the Rear Admiral Lower Half, I will stop by the class twice, once to do some of the things that I want to do, and two to show the Rear Admiral Lower Half. fun huh. I'll take pictures.

Fresberg

Well it is official now. I am back in Fresberg. I was suppose to sign my contract today, however because of a longer than expected car loading time, I did not leave as scheduled. Add to that horrid traffic on the 5. So I called my district and they were cool with me coming in Thursday instead. So I sign my contract tomorrow.

Man I had a lot of stuff. Most of my clothes is here and all of my DVDs. Sheesh. I will be heading back to hopefully get the rest of my stuff and a Guinea Pig

Also just dropped a ton of money on Flick's new kitty supplies. Spoiled kitty.

Had dinner with the Units, home cooked meal. It was nice. However I just realized that my first paycheck won't come to me until the end of Sept. That's crazy. Oh well. I should be fine I hope.
